L'últim GRAN esforç

This school year is coming to its end. In less than a month ESO 1 will be over. La primària ja sona com alguna cosa llunyana i ara toca pensar en el futur. Has pensat ja com acabaràs aquest curs?
Aún tienes una última posibilidad para mejorar tus notas. Una última oportunidad para recuperar lo que ya dabas por perdido. Una última oportunidad para MEJORAR, en definitva. Claro que .... también puedes pasar de todo y comenzar el verano antes que nadie.

The Liceu, Monday April 12th 2010

Today we have been to The Liceu Opera House. We have been there from 11:30 am to 13:00 pm. The students of ESO 1 had the first rehearsals together with the students from other schools. They all are performing live on Saturday April 24 at 13h. Their first show at this great and world-wide famous Opera House? Lucky them!!

March 8th International Day of Working Women

Se escogió el 8 de marzo como "Día de la mujer trabajadora" por dos motivos históricos.

El primero fué la gran marcha de trabajadoras textiles que ocurrió este día de marzo en el año de 1857. Cientos de mujeres hicieron una manifestación pacífica en los barrios adinerados de Nueva York en protesta por las malas condiciones de trabajo que padecían.

El segundo ocurrió en 1908, cuando cerca de 40 mil obreras industriales se declararon en huelga demandando el derecho a sindicalizarse, así como mejores salarios, menos horas de trabajo, capacitación y el rechazo al trabajo infantil. Durante esa huelga, 129 trabajadoras fallecieron a causa de un incendio ocurrido en la fábrica Cotton Textile Factory, en Washington Square, Nueva York.

Hoy en día hombres y mujeres, sin importar el idioma, la etnia, la cultura ni las condiciones políticas y económicas, se unen un día al año para celebrar el papel de la mujer en la sociedad y clamar por la igualdad, el desarrollo y el trato justo de las mujeres en el mundo.

The teachers of Department of English Language agree that:
1-. This kind of tests are not easy because the students don't know what to study.
2-. This kind of tests also require a bit of experience taking them.
3-. The conditions of the room might not have been the best ones for a test like this.
4-. We will make a few changes for future test competitions like this one.

You all did a great job and we are glad you dared.

The Fonix Competition

Es convoca el “3r. Concurs d’Anglès Interescolar de Catalunya”. El concurs està organitzat per International House Barcelona i per la Fundació Catalana de l'Esplai. El concurs compta amb el suport de la Direcció General de Planificació i Entorn del Departament d’Educació de la Generalitat de Catalunya, com a activitat organitzada en el marc d’iniciatives socials d’accions d’entorn i d’activitats vers l’excel·lència i en el del Pla d’impuls de la llengua anglesa als centres educatius catalans.
El concurs és una iniciativa que pretén complementar els plans de millora de la llengua anglesa als centres educatius de Catalunya i s’organitza amb la finalitat d’estimular i motivar l’aprenentatge d’aquest idioma, atesa la seva importància a la societat actual.
Els enunciats de les proves són preparats per un equip pedagògic de reconegut prestigi i consisteixen en una sèrie d’exercicis dins dels àmbits del vocabulari, comprensió lectora i expressió escrita, plantejats de forma distesa i dins d‘un ambient de col·laboració, al llarg de tres fases:FASE LOCAL: Prova a dins dels mateixos centres educatiusFASE TERRITORIAL: Prova amb els representants escollits pels centres, agrupats per territoris. FASE FINAL: Prova final absoluta amb els guanyadors de cada territori
La participació en el concurs és totalment gratuïta i no suposa cap tipus de desemborsament monetari.Les inscripcions les han de realitzar els centres educatius, mitjançant un responsable del centre designat (normalment un dels professors d’anglès) que s’ encarregarà d’organitzar la Prova Local al seu centre.
